Pumpkin Book Reports are due on Monday! Please have your child bring their decorated pumpkin, the book that they read, and their report to school. We will be presenting to the class on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I am excited to see them all!
Parent Teacher Conferences will be taking place on Thursday and Friday. I will be sending out a Zoom link on Wednesday for this. Please be looking for a conference packet in your child's take home folder later this week. This packet will contain various things that will be discussed at conferences. Please have this accessible during your conference time.
Thursday will be a half day of school. Students will be dismissed at 12. There will be no school on Friday.
Over the next few weeks, we will be memorizing Psalm 100. We will be learning it in chunks. Please practice this memory verse with your child at home. Your child will not be assessed on their memory verse this week. These verses will be due on November 6.
Memory Verse: Psalm 100:1-2 “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.”
Math: Your child typically will not come home with any math homework. We will be doing both the homework and remembering sides of our worksheets each day in class. There should be plenty of time for your child to complete the worksheet in class, but if the worksheet does not get completed in class it will be sent home as homework.
Reading:I encourage you to spend about 20 minutes each night reading with your child. Reading is critical at this age and the more practice they get the more fluent they become. Please also find the sight words on the weekly webpage each week and practice these with your child.
Spelling: Each week there will be a new list of spelling words on the weekly webpage. We will practice these words throughout the week in centers and the students will be tested on these on Fridays. Please study these words at home with your child.
Memory Verse: The memory verses that your child will have go along with what we are learning in Bible. You can find the verse on the weekly webpage as well.
