Hanford Christian School News

Principally Speaking

We had a great Christian Education Week. The children looked forward to the activities of each day. I was concerned about the Crazy Head Day, because I didn't know what I would see. What would these children do to their heads? I expected a lot of colored hair in all varieties of the rainbow. That is exactly what I got. Some of the children waited until they got to school before spraying the colored "dye" on their heads. The putrid smell of the hair spray wafted in the air. It drowned out the smell of the orange blossoms, which was a nice smell. It was so nice to see the children back to normal on Friday. What was really amazing was seeing what some of the teachers did to their hair. They were more bizarre than the children!

Occupation Dress Up Day was also an interesting day. The sumo wrestlers were quite the hit as were the plumbers. I especially enjoyed the two boys who dressed as a principal. Flattery isn't always bad. The problem with one of the "principal's" was that he started giving the teachers the day off. I did the only think I could do. I fired him.

Now that the official Christian Education Week is over, the rest of the Christian Education Weeks continue. And our task as parents, students and educators continue. It is a task with great joys and great responsibilities. "Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us." 2 Timothy 1:13-14.

One of those tasks is to attend the society meeting on Thursday night. This meeting is open to all parents who have children enrolled at Hanford Christian School. I hope to see you there.

Mr. Cookson

TRACK MEET RESULTS

We were so thankful to have a good day on Friday for our Hanford Christian Invitational Track Meet. Rain was not a problem and the cooler weather was nice for all our competitors.

Congratulations to the Hanford Christian School girls for winning the first place trophy and to the Hanford Christian School guys for placing second.

Also a tremendous thanks to all our helpers! There were fifty adult helpers. We appreciate Mr. Kerry Udell for being our official starter and Mr. Michael Noland for his fine work as the announcer. Do you have an extra couple of hours each week? If so, why not become our Scrip Director for which there is an immediate opening. This fundraiser is a vital part of our money raising events, and we would all like to see this program continue and succeed.
