Mission Statement

"Helping parents train their children to carry out their covenant responsibilities in harmony with Scripture to the glory of God and the building of His Kingdom".

Introduction

Hanford Christian School is parent controlled and is designed to educate the children of Christian parents. The Hanford Christian School Society owns and operates Hanford Christian School. The society consists of those persons who have children attending HCS and/or are members of a supporting church, subscribe to its constitutional basis, are supportive of Christian education, and acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The society meets annually to elect board members and to decide on matters pertaining to the school. The school is governed by a seven member board. The elected board members are responsible for setting policy and giving direction. The school is staffed with Christian teachers, administrator, and support personnel who strive to live lives that reflect their Christian convictions. The board members and the teaching staff must subscribe to a reformed world-and-life view. Together, in faith, they work to make HCS a place in which to grow, centering Christian education on the following goals:

  • the fostering of spiritual and moral growth.
  • the promotion of intellectual growth through knowledge, insight, and understanding.
  • the encouragement of creative growth through freedom, responsibility, and action.

Approximately 150 students are enrolled in preschool through eighth grade. With an average of 15 students per teacher, there is time for a great deal of individualized instruction. About 30 different churches are represented at HCS from the Hanford, Visalia, Lemoore, Kingsburg, Laton, Fresno, Easton, and Selma areas. Hanford Christian School is a member of Christian Schools International. Busing is available for all students within the established boundaries. Hanford Christian School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national origin in any of its policies, practices, or procedures.

History
